Our Origin Story
Boss Ladies Esq was founded out of necessity in 2016 when Leisa, a Florida Family Law attorney, unexpectedly transitioned from co-managing a law firm to leading her own practice. This sudden change presented numerous challenges. While Leisa excelled in marketing, the complexities of managing a law firm were daunting. Teaming up with Nazarena, they quickly discovered the vast knowledge gap they faced in areas like phone systems, employee training, and associate pay structures.
Building a Supportive Community
In their quest for guidance, Leisa and Nazarena sought help. Still, they found most coaching programs either too generalized or not budget-friendly, often focusing more on mindset than the practical support they needed. Fueled by determination, they created a Facebook Group for female lawyer business owners, which blossomed into a vibrant community that fostered connection, mentorship, and support among its members. Over time, the limits of a Facebook Group to the group’s service as a resource to attorneys have grown - so we have solved the problem by moving the more substantive conversations to our FREE Platform - Boss Lady, Esq.The BLE Community.
Modern Solutions for Lawyers by Lawyers
As their firm grew alongside the Boss Lady, Esq. Facebook Group, Leisa and Nazarena began feeling like the Boss lady, Esq. Community had outgrown the Facebook Group and an idea for an innovative platform that would provide personalized coaching from diverse experts and on-demand learning resources began to emerge. This modern app would feature CLE, chat groups, workshops, and more. Meanwhile, founding group member Nancy Brodzski and her partner Andrea Jacobs were on a parallel path, launching Secret to Your Success coaching program in 2020. In 2025, the four women united to create The Secret to Your Success by Boss Lady, Esq., a community-focused legal educational platform tailored to both the practice and business of law.
